In very exciting news, Law versus Practice PI Frances Nolan has been awarded a Nowlan Digitisation Grant by the Royal Irish Academy, for a project titled “The Court of Claims: The Registers’ Minute Books in the Records of the Trustees for the Irish Forfeitures, 1700-03”.

The award will facilitate the structured digitisation of seven volumes of Registers’ Minute Books from the Court of Claims, which was established to resolve the Williamite land settlement in 1700. These records are richly detailed and offer significant insights into social, economic and family life during a period of profound change in Ireland’s history. 

Law versus Practice PI, Frances Nolan, will work in partnership with the RIA, the Public Records Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) and the Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland (VRTI), to make these volumes more accessible to researchers and to the wider public.
